Mobile stage donated by Macklins
Photos show Keith and Tom from Macklins in Pulborough kindly donating a mobile stage to us. There was brief excitement in the Shed after one Shedder suggested holding a 1960s rave with it. But the realization that this could interfere with blood pressure medication quickly calmed everyone down. Shedders intend to convert this mobile stage into a fully functioning trailer to be used to collect Sheddable materials. A big thank you also to Barry, a local land owner who has allow

Converting our new home
There’s nothing like a good project to build team spirit, camaraderie and a sense of purpose! Photos show Pulborough Shedders starting to convert our light industrial unit in Thakeham into a space where we can meaningfully do Sheddable activities, and be far more inclusive. Quite amazingly, Shedders were so focused this morning that there was no talk of medication, the economy, immigration or Donald Trump. This was slightly unsettling and we are sure it will not become the no

Christmas tree collection
Sunday was quite cold, and also a bit wet and windy. Monday was less cold and although it wasn’t windy, it wasn’t hugely inspiring. So it was that two intrepid teams of three from Pulborough Shedders ventured out on both days to support the Rotary Club of Storrington and Pulborough. We helped to collect Christmas trees from local residents who have kindly given money for the service. We understand that 50% of this money goes directly to Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice.

Our new home
A very exciting start to 2026 for the Pulborough Shedders. We have at last taken keys to our new home which is a light industrial unit at Town House Farm, just north of Thakeham. (As per the first photo). The unit is about four times the size of our existing Shed and will allow us to welcome many new Shedders, and to be be far more inclusive. Thank you to all who have responded to our pestering them for free materials to kit out our new base. Joanna and Ricardo from Attica S

Christmas greetings
A message of good will to all from Pulborough Shedders. Support and encouragement from so very many people this year has been outstanding. A very merry Christmas to everyone.

Visit by the High Sheriff
Pulborough Shedders were delighted to receive a visit from Dr Tim Fooks, the High Sheriff of West Sussex this week. Shedders enjoyed a chat over a mug of tea with him. Many stories were swapped and there was a lot of laughter. But on a serious note, Dr Fooks explained why he is so completely supportive of Mens Sheds and the ethos underlying them. Combatting social isolation is hugely beneficial to many, and being a part of a supportive team has a radical effect on mental heal

Time to move on....
What a boring photo...But look a little deeper. Its really good news, even though the faces down't show unbridled enthusiasm!! The photo shows members of Pulborough Shedders vacating their temporary storage facility in Slinfold. The steady increase of Shedder members over the past two years has been extraordinary, and has shown us that what we are doing is worthwhile. It has also been …oh so satisfying! After many months of searching, we have now acquired a lease on premises

Top class tombola
Pulborough Shedders try to support worthwhile local causes whenever we can. St Mary’s Church in Storrington recently requested that we design and construct a Tombola. The challenge was accepted and attacked with gusto by one of our members. The photo shows the finished item which is clearly a work of love. Feedback has been really positive. Many comments included words such as “lovely”, “classic” and “timeless”. Whilst we were grateful for the feedback, we would really like t

We're all getting older!
Conversation and competition were rife in the Shed this morning. Shedders reluctantly agreed that all are getting steadily older. And that while this is a natural process, it is rather boring.. But it doesn’t have to be. Conversation over a mug of tea in the Shed turned to strategies to keep feeling young, then on to general healthy ways to live…, then there was a little talk of bat house roofs…….. ( No idea ….. ), then on to medication which was where many members thought th
Donated tools and machines galore
A really brilliant week for Pulborough Shedders. Our Shedder net covers an area far wider than just Pulborough. Members also come from Storrington, West Chiltington, Adversane , Coldwaltham and all points in between. Pulborough Shedders are massively encouraged by people throughout our membership area telling us that they understand what we are about, and continuing to get right behind us. Photos show this week’s donations. These were given to us by Phil, Andrew and Donal who

Please help. We need a bigger Shed
Pulborough Shedders continue to look for more suitable premises. The quantity of hot air generated every time we meet is becoming a health hazard in our little shed, and the thought of our current membership having to change into attire suitable for a sauna is seriously traumatic. (No. Really!!) Sheds across the country come in all different shapes and sizes, and have very diverse past lives. Some were barns, some outbuildings, some light industrial premises. One was eve
